INVESTHow much will it cost to get the skills, training or experience that'll help me do what I'm good at?
No matter what first step you want to take after high school, there's a really good chance it's not going to be free. The questions we should start thinking about now are, how much will it cost? and how can we get someone else to pay for it?
Maybe you're thinking about college or some other training program. Is it a short-term credential? Or maybe a two-year or four-year program? Are you looking in-state, out-of-state, public, private? Maybe you're considering an apprenticeship where you get paid to train. Or maybe you're thinking about going right to work at a place where they help you pay for training or school. For as many options as there are, there are as many ways to help cover the cost. Our partners have put together some links to help you understand the options for how to pay for the education and training you want to GO for after high school. |
These use Indiana Career Explorer to help you figure out how to pay for the training or experience you might start after high school.

“I like taking college classes while I am taking my regular high school classes. It makes me feel like I am really being challenged and I’m doing something that’s going to put me ahead of some of my classmates. I won’t have to be in college as long and I won’t have to spend as much money as everyone else.”
